History

DiLeo Realty, Inc. was founded in 1937 by John (Giovanni) Di Leo, who emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1907. John supported his family as the owner of a small grocery store in Plainfield, New Jersey. In 1935, he moved to the rural farming community of Piscataway, and two years later, founded DiLeo Realty, Inc. at its current location (1315 Stelton Road).

In 1947, John's son, Victor, returned from service in the U.S. Navy and joined the family business. Victor's personable style and sincere attention to client needs fueled the company's growth and led to long-term business and personal relationships that established the firm as a major player in the New Jersey commercial real estate market.

In 1986, Victor's son, Robert, graduated from Rutgers University and joined the firm as the third generation DiLeo. With the explosion of the information age, Robert identified the value to using technology as a tool to better serve clients, while always keeping in mind that the personal relationship is still the driving force to long-term success.
